Hi all

I am so excited to inform you all that I have been successful in gaining the $100 000 Sports and Grant Rec grant to pay for the resurface of the courts and a new amenities building. This grant along with the $25 000 awarded by the council to go towards the court upgrade will enable us to have a safe new playing surface and an enduring future for the Hervey Bay Netball Community.

All of this will be complimented by the recent delivery of all of the new equipment secured in the Equipment Grant that we received a few months ago.

The grant application process was very complex with many hours devoted to obtaining quotes and liaising with council and government departments but I am pleased to say it was worth it in the end.

For the first time in many years we will again have our own amenities building with a toilet which will act as a central control room and meeting place with some levels of storage. The council have approved for us to be placed along court 6 on our own land, using the sewerage, electrical and water access points behind Repco. In addition this will include fixing the drainage issues around the courts that have caused flash flooding and early breakdown of our playing surface.

Finally I need to thank Rob Searle from council along with Emma Crabtree and Janine Pay for all of your assistance in this process and for all of the councils support and co-operation, from the bottom of my heart I thank you on behalf of the entire netball community.
